Ko e mape
Haslett is defined on the map by Lake Lansing, a broad, rounded lake that anchors the community's northern side. Homes line much of the shoreline, and the streets behind them bend and loop in the manner of mid-century and later subdivisions. Further out, the rectangular section-line roads typical of Michigan's survey grid frame the area in long, straight edges.
It is an unincorporated community within Meridian Township in Ingham County, lying just northeast of East Lansing and Michigan State University. Many residents commute into the Lansing area, and the town combines quiet residential streets with parks, school campuses and a small commercial stretch along its main roads. Lake Lansing Park gives the public access to the water.
A Haslett map poster shows the interplay between the lake's soft outline and the rigid mile grid around it. The cul-de-sacs and winding lanes form small clusters, the wooded parkland adds open space, and the major roads toward East Lansing and Okemos run off the edges. It is a map about lake life on the edge of a university region.
The lake is the defining shape of the area, a wide body of water with residential streets pressed along its shore and parkland on its edges, reading as a strong open form on the poster.
Beyond the lakeside neighbourhoods, straight roads laid out along section lines divide the land into large squares, giving the map a firm geometric frame.
Between the grid lines, looping streets and short cul-de-sacs form tight residential pockets, adding soft, rounded patterns to the otherwise orderly layout.
