Ilkal lies in Bagalkot district in northern Karnataka, on the dry, open plateau of the Deccan. From above, the town is a compact knot of narrow streets and closely built lanes, with main roads running through it toward larger centres in the region. Around the edges, the density drops away into farmland, scattered settlements and the rocky ground typical of this part of the state.
The name is known well beyond the town because of the Ilkal saree, a handloom textile with a distinctive border and pallu that carries a geographical indication tag. The area is also associated with a pink granite quarried nearby. Both are reminders that this is a working town, shaped by craft and stone as much as by trade.
An Ilkal map poster translates that working landscape into clean black lines. The old centre prints as a fine, intricate mesh, while newer roads and highways sweep around it in broader strokes. It is a quiet, graphic portrait of a place most people know through the cloth it produces rather than the shape of its streets.
The core is a tangle of narrow lanes and tightly packed plots, the kind of fine-grained pattern that gives a black and white print real depth and texture.
Main roads cross the town and continue over the plateau to neighbouring districts, forming the strong lines that anchor the composition around the dense centre.
Beyond the built area, the map thins into field boundaries, tracks and rocky ground, a reminder of the dry upland setting that surrounds the town.

Ko e ha Ilkal
Ilkal is a name many people carry with them, through family, through the saree trade or through time spent in northern Karnataka. A map of its streets offers a restrained way to mark that connection, and it sits comfortably alongside textiles, photographs or books.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, adding a family name or a wedding date for example. Five styles are available, from Classic black & white and Noir to the warmer Paper and Sand or the technical Blueprint, as instant HD files or as a printed poster.
