Iloilo City lies on the southeastern coast of Panay, and its map is organised around the Iloilo River, a winding tidal estuary that curls through the city before reaching the Iloilo Strait. Across the water to the southeast sits Guimaras Island, close enough that the two coastlines frame the harbour like a channel.
The city was formed from several older towns, and the districts still read as separate centres on the map: the City Proper near the river mouth, Jaro with its cathedral to the north, Molo and Arevalo along the coast to the west, and La Paz and Mandurriao inland. Each has its own plaza and church, linked by roads and bridges.
Iloilo is known for its Dinagyang festival each January, for heritage buildings along Calle Real, and for La Paz batchoy, a noodle soup named after the district. A riverside esplanade now follows the water for several kilometres. An Iloilo map poster captures the looping river, the plazas and the strait in a single drawing.

The narrow channel between Panay and Guimaras forms the city’s southeastern edge, with the port and ferry wharves sitting along its shore.
Jaro, Molo and the City Proper each centre on a plaza and church, creating several small nodes of regular streets across the wider map.

Many Ilonggos live and work far from home, and a map of Iloilo is a quiet reminder of the river, the plazas and the ferry crossings they grew up with. The city’s shape, with its winding estuary, makes an elegant and recognisable print.
