Garrison core
The historic centre grew inside a Ming-era coastal fortress. Its streets are still tighter and denser than the rest of the town, so it forms the natural focal point of the map.

Jinxiang lies in Cangnan County, at the southern edge of Wenzhou, where the Zhejiang coast flattens out into low farmland and tidal ground. On a map the town appears as a tight cluster of streets, with narrow canals and drainage channels running through the surrounding fields. The sea is only a short distance to the east.
The town's origins are military. In the Ming dynasty it was a fortified garrison, one of a chain built along this coast against raiders from the sea. That older, enclosed core still shows in the way the central streets bunch together, and the newer districts spread out around it along wider roads.
More recently Jinxiang became known for small-scale manufacturing, especially badges, printed goods and similar products. A Jinxiang map poster puts the old defensive core, the modern roads and the patchwork of waterways into one frame. Together they give a clear picture of a place shaped first by the coast and then by trade.
The historic centre grew inside a Ming-era coastal fortress. Its streets are still tighter and denser than the rest of the town, so it forms the natural focal point of the map.
Thin canals and irrigation channels thread across the surrounding farmland. They show up as fine, wandering lines, which suit the Blueprint style particularly well.
East of the town the land flattens into coastal ground. Depending on the frame, the edge of the East China Sea shore can give the composition a quiet, open side.

Ko e ha Jinxiang
For people whose families come from Cangnan, or who have worked in Jinxiang's workshops, a map of the town is a modest way to keep that place in view. The fine waterways and dense old core give the print real detail even at larger sizes.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be set however you like, for example in Chinese characters or in pinyin. There are five styles to choose from: Classic, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. A free watermarked preview lets you check the layout before you buy.
