Katy lies on the western edge of Greater Houston. Its name comes from the Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad, known as the Katy, whose tracks helped found the town. On the map the old centre still follows the railway as a small, square-cut grid of streets beside the line, while everything else has grown outward in the decades since.
The strongest line on the print is Interstate 10, the Katy Freeway, running east to west with its wide frontage roads and interchanges. North and south of it, master-planned neighbourhoods unfold in loops, cul-de-sacs and ponds, a pattern that looks almost organic from above. Beyond them lies the flat Katy Prairie, once known for rice farming.
A Katy map poster captures a place in transition, part railroad town and part suburban city, with the two clearly visible side by side. That contrast is what makes the map interesting. Near the tracks the blocks are straight and older, and around them spreads the soft geometry of streets designed for families and the daily commute toward Houston.

Interstate 10 cuts straight across the map as a thick band of lanes and frontage roads. It is the main artery linking Katy to central Houston.
Planned neighbourhoods form loops, crescents and cul-de-sacs around retention ponds, creating a dense, almost ornamental texture across the suburbs north and south of the highway.

Ko e ha Katy
Many families moved to Katy for its schools and neighbourhoods. A map of the exact streets where they settled makes a meaningful housewarming or moving-away gift, and the curving layouts look especially good in print, with every cul-de-sac drawn cleanly.
Personalise the title, add a subtitle with your street or move-in date, and edit the coordinates line. Pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then print it yourself from the 300 DPI files or order it printed with an optional wooden frame.
