Kingstown sits at the head of a bay on the southwest coast of Saint Vincent, the main island of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. There is little flat land by the water, so the old centre forms a tight grid of a few parallel streets along the shore. Beyond it, roads climb sharply into steep hills that surround the town like an amphitheatre.
The harbour and ferry jetties shape the waterfront. Boats leave from here for Bequia and the rest of the Grenadines. Fort Charlotte stands on the western ridge above the bay. North of the centre are the Botanic Gardens, founded in 1765 and among the oldest in the Western Hemisphere. On the map, winding hillside roads contrast with the orderly grid below.
Its stone arcades and covered walkways earned Kingstown the nickname City of Arches, a detail best seen on foot. From above, the town is a compact settlement in a bowl of hills. A Kingstown map poster brings out the contrast between the regular old streets, the curved bay and the twisting routes into the island's interior.

The fort stands on high ground west of the bay, reached by a winding road. It marks the western edge of the town on the printed sheet.
Founded in 1765 on the northern edge of town, the gardens appear as an open space of curving paths among the denser streets around them.

Ko e ha Kingstown
Vincentians abroad, sailors who set off for the Grenadines from here and visitors who have explored the island often want a lasting image of Kingstown. The neat grid and the surrounding hills give the map a clear focal point and a natural sense of depth.
You can change the title and subtitle, add a date or a name, and edit the coordinates line. Choose one of five styles, then download six print sizes as 300 DPI PNG and PDF files for $9, or order a matte printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
