Ko e mape
La Porte occupies the western shore of Galveston Bay, southeast of Houston, and its map is defined by water. The bay forms a long eastern edge, while the Houston Ship Channel and the San Jacinto River shape the land to the north. Inland, neighbourhoods follow a broadly rectangular grid, with wide arterial roads and blocks of suburban streets on flat coastal ground.
Industry is visible even in outline. Large petrochemical sites line the channel, and the Barbours Cut container terminal cuts a hard-edged shape into the shoreline. These broad, open-looking parcels sit beside the finer mesh of residential streets, so a monochrome map shows both sides of the city: the working waterfront and the quieter bayside town.
North of the city lies the San Jacinto Battleground, where the 1836 battle secured Texas independence. The tall San Jacinto Monument marks the site. Along the bay, Sylvan Beach Park recalls the town's early days as a resort. A La Porte map poster brings bay, channel and grid together in a composition with strong edges and clear directions.
The eastern edge of the city is open water. A smooth shoreline runs along Galveston Bay, with parks and residential streets reaching down to meet it.
To the north, the dredged ship channel carves a deep, deliberate line through the landscape. Terminals and industrial plants along its banks form large geometric shapes.
The historic battleground and its monument occupy a green tract near the channel, a quiet open space that stands apart from the surrounding industry.

Ko e ha La Porte
La Porte is home to families with deep roots on the bay and to people who work along the channel. A map of its streets and shoreline is a clear, understated reminder of home, or of a posting that became more than a job.
