Linjiacun lies in eastern Shandong, inland from the Yellow Sea coast, in countryside of low hills and wide cultivated valleys. From above, the settlement has a dense centre of closely set houses and courtyards, with lanes that follow the older village layout. Newer streets and larger blocks spread out along the main roads, forming a straighter, more regular grid.
The land around the town is a patchwork of fields, orchards and small reservoirs. Streams wind between low rises, and field boundaries break the landscape into fine, irregular shapes.
