Longchi lies in northern Shandong, in the low country of the Weifang area, a short distance inland from the southern shore of Laizhou Bay. The land here is almost perfectly flat, and the map is organised mostly by human geometry. Roads, drainage ditches and field boundaries form long straight lines that meet at right angles.
The town itself is a compact grid of streets and housing blocks, with a main road running through it and village settlements spaced out across the surrounding plain. Farmland fills most of the map, divided into long narrow strips. Towards the coast, the ground becomes lower and wetter, and the field pattern changes accordingly.
