Longshan is an urban district of Liaoyuan in southern Jilin Province, in China's northeast. The area lies in a valley surrounded by low, rolling hills, and the built-up zone stretches along the river and the main roads. From above, the pattern is compact, with a denser centre and lighter development along the valley edges.
Liaoyuan grew as an industrial city, and like many towns in the northeast it has a mix of older residential blocks, broad avenues and newer housing estates. The hills around Longshan limit how far the city can spread, so the map has clear edges where the streets end and the green slopes begin.
