Ko e mape
The Lower East Side lies in southeastern Manhattan, south of Houston Street and east of the Bowery, reaching towards the East River. The name once covered a wider area, including what is now the East Village. On today's map it forms a compact district of short blocks and narrow streets, laid out long before the grand avenues further uptown.
Delancey Street runs east as a broad corridor to the Williamsburg Bridge, which opened in 1903 and carries the road straight across the river. Around it, streets such as Orchard, Ludlow and Essex keep the district's narrow grid, while large housing developments near the water break the pattern into superblocks. FDR Drive follows the shoreline.
For generations the area was a first stop for immigrants arriving in New York, and its tenements housed families from Ireland, Germany, Eastern Europe, Italy, China and elsewhere. The Tenement Museum on Orchard Street tells some of their stories. A Lower East Side map poster captures that history through the grid itself: dense, rectangular and marked by the bridge to Brooklyn.
The bridge rises from the end of Delancey Street and crosses the East River to Brooklyn. Its long straight line anchors the whole district.
One of the district's best-known streets runs north to south through the tenement blocks, lined with small shops and home to the Tenement Museum.
Along the river, FDR Drive and the waterfront parks form a firm boundary, with larger residential blocks between the shoreline and the older streets.

Ko e ha Lower East Side
People frame the Lower East Side to remember a first apartment in New York, a favourite bar or family roots traced back to its tenements. The dense grid makes a bold, graphic poster that suits kitchens, hallways and small living rooms.
Add a title and subtitle, perhaps an address or a year, set the coordinates line, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files cost $9, and printed posters come on matte paper with an optional wooden frame.
