Lunas is a town in the Kulim district of Kedah, in northern Peninsular Malaysia, close to the border with Penang. From above, it has a compact centre of low buildings and short streets, with residential areas spreading outward and soon giving way to plantation land. The geometry is modest and practical, formed by a main road and the lanes branching from it.
The surroundings are shaped by agriculture, with rubber and oil palm estates laid out in regular blocks crossed by service tracks. Small rivers and drainage channels thread through the low ground.
