Mbulu is a district town in Manyara Region, set on a high plateau in northern Tanzania. The map shows a modest centre where a handful of main roads meet, surrounded by a wide landscape of farms, footpaths and scattered homesteads. The terrain is uneven, so the roads bend along ridges and valleys instead of running straight.
The Mbulu highlands are the heartland of the Iraqw people, whose farming has shaped the land around the town for generations. The plateau rises above the plains of the northern Rift Valley region, with cooler air and greener slopes than the lowlands. Mbulu itself is a centre for local administration, trade and schooling.
A Mbulu map poster keeps only the essentials: the crossing of roads at the centre, the finer mesh of local streets, and thin rural tracks disappearing into farmland. It is an understated image, and the Paper and Sand styles suit the earthy highland setting especially well.
Several routes meet at the town centre, forming the clearest structure on the map. They connect Mbulu to neighbouring districts and to larger towns in the region.
Around the town, narrow tracks spread across the highland farms. They form a fine network that fills the edges of the poster with delicate detail.
The shape of the plateau shows indirectly, through roads curving along high ground and homes gathering on the gentler slopes.

Ko e ha Mbulu
It makes a thoughtful gift for Iraqw families, and for teachers, health workers and volunteers who have lived in Mbulu. Travellers who remember the cool highland air of northern Tanzania will recognise it too.
