Ko e mape
Mediouna lies a short distance south-east of Casablanca, in the Casablanca-Settat region, and gives its name to the surrounding province. On a map it shows up as a compact settlement where several routes meet. Flat farmland divided into regular parcels stretches away on every side. The contrast between the dense centre and the open ground around it is the first thing the eye picks up.
Mediouna belongs to the Chaouia, the broad coastal plain that has long supplied grain and produce to Casablanca. As Morocco's largest city has grown outward, new housing and roads have edged closer. The map records that meeting point: older lanes at the core, newer grids at the margins, and highways drawing lines toward the city to the north-west.
A Mediouna map poster works best at a scale that shows both the town and the pattern of the land around it. In black and white, field boundaries become fine hatching and road junctions become clear nodes. The town itself reads as a small, dense knot within a wide, open plain, a simple and balanced image.
Several roads meet at the town and radiate outward like spokes on the map. They link Mediouna to Casablanca and to the farming communities of the plain.
Flat, cultivated land surrounds the town in long parcels. On paper these field lines add a gentle texture that balances the denser street pattern at the centre.
Toward the north-west, newer streets and road links show Casablanca's expansion. The frame captures a town caught between countryside and city.
