Ko e mape
Mid-Levels covers the steep north face of Hong Kong Island, between the business district of Central and the upper slopes toward Victoria Peak. On a map the district looks like a series of roads laid along the contours. Streets such as Caine Road, Robinson Road and Conduit Road run across the hillside in layers, joined by short, steep connecting streets and stairways.
Its best-known feature is the Central–Mid-Levels escalator. This chain of covered outdoor escalators and walkways runs for about 800 metres up the slope, and it is often described as the longest of its kind in the world. It runs downhill in the morning and uphill for the rest of the day.
A Mid-Levels map poster shows a place defined by gradient. Tall residential towers crowd the narrow terraces, and the roads bend back and forth where the slope steepens. Together they form a dense, finely layered drawing unlike any flat city.
Caine Road, Robinson Road and Conduit Road follow the hillside at different heights. On the poster they appear as stacked horizontal bands, one above another.
The Central–Mid-Levels escalator climbs straight up the slope through the street layers, a rare direct line in a district otherwise shaped by curves.
Higher up, the roads fold into hairpin bends as the terrain steepens toward Victoria Peak. They give the top of the map a looser, winding texture.

Ko e ha Mid Levels
Mid-Levels means something specific to people who have lived there, climbed its stairs or ridden the escalator to work. The layered streets also make a clean, graphic image for any wall. Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with the building or year you arrived, and adjust the coordinates.
Noir suits the dense night-time character of the district. Classic black & white keeps things crisp, Blueprint emphasises the engineering of the slope, and Paper and Sand add warmth. Download the $9 HD files in six sizes or order a framed or unframed print.
