Myszków lies in the Silesian Voivodeship of southern Poland, on the upper Warta River, at the edge of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. The town is made up of several districts spread along the river and the railway, with pockets of forest between them. On a map it looks less like one centre than a loose chain of neighbourhoods.
Myszków grew as an industrial town, with paper and other factories built near the river and the main rail line between Warsaw and Katowice. The limestone landscape of the Polish Jura begins nearby, with its castles and rocky outcrops along the Trail of the Eagles' Nests.
