Ko e mape
Ntungamo is the chief town of Ntungamo District in Uganda's Western Region, in the rolling hill country south-west of Mbarara towards the Rwandan border. The terrain is its defining feature. The town is set among hills, so on the map the streets curve with the ground and the built-up area stretches along the main road rather than forming a neat block.
The road from Mbarara to Kabale passes through the town, carrying traffic towards the south-west and the border crossings beyond. It is the firmest line on the sheet, with shops and services gathered along it. Away from the road, smaller streets and paths lead up the hillsides into residential areas, and bananas and pasture cover the surrounding slopes.
The region is known for its long-horned Ankole cattle and for banana cultivation, and both shape the countryside into open pastures and gardens. This Ntungamo map poster turns the landscape into a set of flowing lines: a road through the valley, streets rising over the hills and tracks disappearing into the countryside, all rendered in calm monochrome.
The main highway runs through the town and gathers most commercial activity along its length, forming a clear, confident line through the hilly terrain.
Residential lanes climb the slopes away from the road in irregular curves, showing the shape of the hills directly through the street pattern.
Beyond the town, pasture and banana gardens cover the ridges, with tracks linking scattered homesteads across the undulating ground on every side of the map.
