Osmaniye lies at the point where the flat Çukurova plain meets the foothills of the Amanus Mountains in southern Turkey. From above, the city's grid spreads comfortably over level ground, with main avenues running in long straight lines. To the east, the streets start to climb and bend as the terrain rises.
The province around the city is known across Turkey for its peanuts, grown in the fertile fields of the plain.
