Ko e mape
Phaya Thai is a district of central Bangkok, lying north of the city's commercial core. On a map it is a tight mesh of major roads and the narrow side streets, or sois, that branch off them, with little open ground in between. Phahonyothin Road runs north through the district, and above it the BTS Sukhumvit Line traces a straight elevated line.
The district shares its name with Phaya Thai Palace, built in the early twentieth century as a royal residence and now part of a hospital complex just to the south. Nearby stands the Victory Monument, at the centre of one of Bangkok's best-known roundabouts, where several major roads converge in a large circle.
North of the monument, the Ari neighbourhood is known for its leafy residential sois, cafés and small restaurants. A Phaya Thai map poster captures this density: long straight avenues, elevated tracks, the fine grain of sois and the occasional compound of a government office or hospital standing out as a larger block.
Just south of the district, a large roundabout gathers several major roads into a single circle, one of the most recognisable shapes in Bangkok's street map.
The avenue runs north through the district, with the BTS line elevated above it and stations at intervals, a strong vertical axis across the poster.
Narrow side streets branch off the main road in a fine comb-like pattern, many of them dead ends, giving the residential areas their dense texture.

Ko e ha Phaya Thai
Phaya Thai is home to many Bangkok residents and expats, and a daily route for commuters passing through Victory Monument or Ari. A map of the district holds the specific streets of a life in the city rather than the whole sprawling capital.
Set the title, subtitle and coordinates line to a building, a soi or a date, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download HD files for $9 in six sizes, or order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
