Ko e mape
Pikesville lies just northwest of Baltimore City in Baltimore County, Maryland. Its main axis is Reisterstown Road, a historic route running northwest from the city, lined with shops and synagogues. The Baltimore Beltway, Interstate 695, crosses the community. Residential streets on either side curve through hilly, wooded land cut by small stream valleys, making a map of loops and irregular blocks rather than a grid.
The community is named after Zebulon Pike, the army officer and explorer remembered in the name of Pikes Peak, who died in the War of 1812. Pikesville has one of the largest Jewish communities in the Baltimore area, visible in its synagogues and schools. The former Pikesville Armory, which began as a federal arsenal in the early nineteenth century, stands on Reisterstown Road.
A Pikesville map poster shows a classic inner suburb in fine detail. Reisterstown Road draws a strong line, the Beltway interchange sweeps across, and curving residential streets fill the spaces between. It suits people who grew up here or moved away for college. It also suits anyone who wants a map of Baltimore County rather than the harbour.
The historic route runs through the community from the city line toward the northwest. It is the main commercial spine and the clearest line on the map.
Interstate 695 cuts across Pikesville in broad curves and interchanges. It adds a bold, geometric element to an otherwise softly curving suburban layout.
Small creeks and wooded slopes break up the neighbourhoods. They leave pale gaps and winding streets that follow the terrain rather than a plan.

Ko e ha Pikesville
Pikesville is a place of long family ties, where people come back for the holidays and find the same streets and synagogues. A map marks that continuity and makes a considered gift for a new home, an anniversary or a milestone birthday.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a family name, a street or a year, and choose from five styles. Buy the 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
