Pompano Beach stretches along the Atlantic coast of Broward County in South Florida, between Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton. From above it forms parallel bands: the open ocean, a narrow barrier strip of beachfront, the Intracoastal Waterway, and then the mainland grid that runs inland past the highways and rail lines.
The eastern neighbourhoods are threaded with finger canals, dredged so that homes could have their own boat docks, and on a map they look like combs of water reaching into the streets. The city takes its name from the pompano, a fish common in local waters, and its fishing pier extends from the beach out into the Atlantic.
A Pompano Beach map poster captures that layered, linear shape. The coastline makes a clean edge, the canals add intricate detail, and the inland grid gives structure. Hillsboro Inlet, at the northern edge, breaks the shoreline, frames the composition and marks where the city meets its neighbours to the north.
The sheltered waterway runs parallel to the shore. It separates the beachfront strip from the mainland and adds a long, calm line of water down the length of the map.
Residential canals branch off the waterway in narrow, repeating fingers, each lined with lots. They form one of the most intricate patterns in the city's plan.
At the northern edge, the inlet opens a gap between the barrier island and the coast, linking the Intracoastal with the ocean and giving the shoreline a distinctive notch.

Ko e ha Pompano Beach
Whether it marks a winter home, a retirement, a wedding on the beach or years of fishing from the pier, a map of Pompano Beach holds a lot of memory. Its water-heavy layout looks especially good in the Blueprint and Sand styles.
