Ramon lies in the province of Isabela in the Cagayan Valley, in the north of Luzon. Its map is largely rural: a town centre with a small grid of streets, roads leading out to villages, and wide areas of fields and irrigation canals. To the west, the land rises toward the hills and the course of the Magat River.
The municipality is associated with the Magat Dam, one of the largest dams in the Philippines, built to supply irrigation and power to the valley.
