San Clemente lies at the southern tip of Orange County, California, on the coast between Los Angeles and San Diego. The city was founded in the 1920s by Ole Hanson, who wanted a Spanish-style village by the sea. White walls and red tile roofs are still part of the town's character, especially in the older blocks near the centre.
On a map the city climbs steeply from the Pacific. Streets near the shore follow the hillsides in curves, and canyons cut inland between ridges of housing. The railway runs right along the beach, the municipal pier reaches into the ocean and Interstate 5 threads through the town parallel to the coast.
A San Clemente map poster captures a coastline and hillside city in one frame. The shoreline makes a long, clean edge, the pier points out to sea and the curving streets fill the slopes. Just south of the city lie the Trestles surf breaks, and on the bluffs sits La Casa Pacifica, once Richard Nixon's Western White House.
The wooden pier extends straight out into the Pacific from the town centre. On the poster it is a single sharp line crossing the shoreline.
Residential streets curve along the slopes and around canyons as the city rises from the beach. Together they form flowing, contour-like lines across the map.
The railway runs along the sand and the interstate cuts through town parallel to the coast. These two long lines echo the shape of the shoreline.

Ko e ha San Clemente
San Clemente means a lot to surfers who know Trestles, families who have spent summers near the pier and anyone who has lived on its hills. The coastline and curving streets make a light, open print that suits beach houses and city apartments alike.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates with a surf spot, a wedding date or a street name. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand and Blueprint pair especially well with the coast.
