Ko e mape
Shabqadar lies in Charsadda District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northwest of Peshawar, on the northern edge of the Peshawar valley. From above, the town sits on flat, irrigated land crossed by canals and field boundaries, with the hills of the Mohmand area rising close by. Roads converge on the town from several directions, and its built-up area gathers around the market.
The town has long been a trading point between the plains and the hills, and a fort built during the British period stands here. Beyond that, Shabqadar is a working agricultural centre, surrounded by fields watered by the canal system that draws on the rivers of the valley.
A Shabqadar map poster captures the meeting of two landscapes: the regular fields and channels of the plain, and the rougher ground rising to the north. The town itself is an irregular cluster with roads radiating outward. It is an understated print that will mean the most to those who know the place, its market and its surroundings.
Roads from surrounding villages meet at the town's commercial core, where the street pattern is densest and the town's role as a trading place is clear.
South of the town, canals and field boundaries cover the flat land of the Peshawar valley, forming a fine geometric pattern around the settlement.
The ground begins to rise just beyond the town, marking the edge of the valley and giving the map a clear sense of direction and place.
