Silverdale sits at the northern end of Dyes Inlet, an arm of Puget Sound on the Kitsap Peninsula in western Washington. The shoreline is the first thing the map shows: a sheltered body of water with coves, points and small creeks, and the community curving around it. Inland, the ground rises into low, forested hills, and the roads twist to follow it.
Silverdale is unincorporated, but it is the main shopping and service centre for central Kitsap County. Its commercial core appears as a cluster of large blocks, parking areas and arterial roads near the highway. Around it, cul-de-sacs and looping subdivisions sit among the trees, a pattern typical of Pacific Northwest suburbs.
Naval Base Kitsap at Bangor lies a short distance to the north, and many residents have a connection to it. A Silverdale map poster shows the peninsula's character clearly: water, forest and roads closely intertwined, with the inlet forming the calm, open centre of the composition.
The inlet's sheltered waters and irregular shoreline dominate the southern part of the map. Their smooth outlines contrast with the dense street patterns inland.
Large blocks and wide roads near the highway mark the shopping and service district, a bold, geometric shape within the looser suburban layout.
Curving residential streets and cul-de-sacs spread through the forested hills. Their soft, branching forms fill the northern and western edges of the poster.

Ko e ha Silverdale
Many people come to Silverdale on military postings or move here for a quiet life by the water, so a map of it becomes a record of time spent here. It also suits families who have watched the community grow.
Add a title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with the dates of a posting, and pick from five styles. Noir and Blueprint suit the dark water well. Download the files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
