Skanes lies on the coast just west of central Monastir. On the map it is mostly one long idea: the shoreline. Resort buildings and access roads follow the beach in a line, and a coastal road runs behind them. Inland, the street pattern becomes looser and gives way to open ground and olive-growing land.
