Ko e mape
Spring Hill is a large unincorporated community in Hernando County, north of Tampa. It was laid out as a planned development from the late 1960s onward. The map shows that origin plainly. There is no old downtown and no single grid. Instead, curving residential streets, loops and cul-de-sacs spread across low wooded land, with a handful of wide arterials carrying traffic through.
The western side runs toward US 19 and the Gulf coast, near Weeki Wachee Springs. To the east, the Suncoast Parkway runs north to south in a long, straight line. Between the two, neighbourhoods follow a pattern of branching streets that from above looks almost organic, like veins in a leaf or the channels of a river delta.
A Spring Hill map poster suits that pattern well. With labels kept minimal, the curves and dead ends turn into a fine lacework of lines, broken only by ponds, golf courses and patches of Florida scrub. It is a portrait of the planned American suburb, drawn at the scale where its design finally becomes visible.

The western edge follows US 19, the main coastal highway, a straight commercial line that contrasts with the winding neighbourhoods to its east.
The toll parkway cuts north to south along the eastern side, one of the few long straight lines in an otherwise curving street network.
