Talara Map Poster & Print

Talara is on the arid northern coast of Peru, in Piura region. The map shows a town in the desert. A curving bay faces the Pacific, the streets form a compact grid on terraces above the water, and a large refinery complex and port installations sit along the shore. Inland, the land is almost empty.

The town grew as the centre of Peru's oldest oil fields, and the petroleum industry still shapes it. Punta Pariñas, just south of Talara, is the westernmost point of mainland South America, a quiet geographic distinction for this stretch of coast.

A Talara map poster is a study in contrast. The dense town and industrial plots are packed along the bay, and the dry land around them has barely a line on it. The coastline and the scattered oilfield tracks provide most of the drawing.
