Tobré is in the Atakora department of northwestern Benin, a region of savanna, scattered hills and farmland. Seen from above, the town is small and open. A few roads come together near its centre, lined with compounds, and then continue outward across a landscape of cultivated fields and dry-season tracks.
There is no dense grid here. The pattern is looser and more rural: clusters of buildings, paths linking them, and wide spaces between.
