Ko e mape
Tulantongo lies in the State of Mexico, on the eastern side of the Valley of Mexico near the city of Texcoco. It is one of several communities in this area where older village cores are gradually being surrounded by newer housing and roads. On a map the result is a mixture: irregular streets at the centre, straighter blocks at the edges, and fields beyond.
The eastern valley has a long history of settlement reaching back before the Spanish conquest, when Texcoco was one of the major cities of the Aztec Triple Alliance. Today the land mixes agriculture, small communities and growing urban development, while the mountains of the Sierra Nevada rise further east, lending the whole area a sense of scale.
A Tulantongo map poster shows a place at the edge of a great metropolitan region, where the rural and the suburban meet. Winding lanes, straight new roads and open fields sit side by side in fine black lines. It is a precise, personal portrait for residents and families who know the community well.
At the centre of Tulantongo, older streets follow an irregular pattern. On the poster this area stands out as a denser, more intricate cluster than its surroundings.
Around the edges, newer blocks follow straighter lines as housing spreads. This contrast gives the map a layered look, showing how the community is growing.
Fields and roads extend across the valley floor around the town. The open land between communities gives the poster room to breathe and frames the settlement clearly.
