Tupaciguara lies in the Triângulo Mineiro, the western wedge of Minas Gerais, not far from Uberlândia. The town has the orderly plan common in the region. Straight streets cross at regular intervals to form a clear rectangular grid, with a central square and church near the middle. Around the edges the grid gives way abruptly to open countryside.
That countryside is part of the design. The plateau is intensively farmed, and from above it shows as large, geometric fields, with the occasional curving line of a stream valley or a strip of remaining cerrado vegetation. The contrast between the fine street grid and the broad agricultural blocks makes a crisp, balanced composition in black and white.
A Tupaciguara map poster suits people who grew up in its streets or have family ties to the Triângulo. The regular plan is easy to read, so a home, a school or a favourite square can be found at a glance. It prints cleanly at every size, from A3 up to 24×36″.
The centre is laid out in a regular grid of straight streets, giving the map a clear, almost architectural structure that reads well from a distance.
Near the middle of the grid, an open square breaks the pattern of blocks, a small pale space that anchors the whole composition.
Beyond the town the land is divided into large fields, with long straight boundaries and occasional curving stream valleys crossing them.
