Ubari Map Poster & Print

Ubari lies in the Wadi al-Hayat, a long valley in the Fezzan region of southwestern Libya. The valley is lined with palm groves and small settlements, and on the map the town appears as a cluster of streets along the main road that runs the length of the wadi.

To the north lies the Ubari Sand Sea, a huge expanse of dunes that hides several small salt lakes, such as Gaberoun and Umm al-Maa, among the sand. The valley itself has long been a route across the Sahara, and the ancient Garamantian capital of Germa lies nearby.

An Ubari map poster shows the stark contrast between the narrow line of settlement and the emptiness around it. In black and white, the town and the valley road form a clear axis, while the open desert gives the design a sense of scale and silence.

Main valley road

A single main road runs along the wadi, linking Ubari with other oasis towns and drawing a strong line through the desert.

Taha mape kua fai kakano

For people from the Fezzan, or anyone drawn to desert landscapes, the map shows Ubari as it truly is: a thin line of life and settlement set against the Sahara.

You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line and pick one of five styles. Sand is a natural match for the desert, while Noir turns the valley road into a bright line across a dark field.
