Ko e mape
Wakasugi lies east of central Fukuoka, where the flat plain around the city meets the low mountains that enclose it. The map here shows a transition: tightly packed residential streets and small plots on the lower ground, then an abrupt edge where forested slopes begin. Fields and older lanes survive in pockets between newer housing, adding texture to the plan.
Rail lines and main roads run from this area toward Hakata and central Fukuoka, and they give the map its strongest straight lines. The residential areas between them form a fine, dense pattern typical of Japanese suburbs, with narrow streets, frequent small turns and few large blocks. Streams descending from the hills cut across this pattern on their way toward the bay.
Wakasugi is a local, lived-in place rather than a destination, and it shares its name with the wooded mountain that rises nearby. A Wakasugi map poster records the meeting of city and hills in a quiet, precise way, suited to anyone who lives here, grew up here or commutes from here into Fukuoka each day.
Wooded slopes rise close to the residential streets, creating a sharp boundary on the map where dense lines stop and open ground begins.
Railway lines and main roads toward central Fukuoka cross the area in long, straight strokes, the clearest structure in an otherwise fine-grained plan.
Narrow residential streets with frequent bends and small blocks fill the lower ground, giving the map a rich, intricate texture typical of Japanese towns.
