Xuyong sits in the far south of Sichuan, in Luzhou prefecture close to the Guizhou border. From above, the town is a narrow settlement that follows the bends of a river, with blocks of streets filling whatever flat ground the valley allows. Hills rise on both sides, so the town is long and linear rather than round. The landscape set its shape more than any plan did.
The older centre clusters near the water, where short lanes meet the riverbank and bridges stitch the two sides together. Newer districts extend along the valley floor, and their wider roads run parallel to the river before thinning out into farmland on the lower slopes. A Xuyong map poster captures that contrast between the dense line of the town and the open, rumpled countryside pressing against it.
The surrounding county is largely rural and mountainous, typical of the borderlands where the Sichuan Basin rises toward the Yunnan–Guizhou Plateau. On a black-and-white print the heights fall away into white space. What remains is the essential outline: water, roads and the tight human geography that has grown between them over generations.
A river runs through the centre of Xuyong and decides its form. Streets bend with the water, and bridges appear as short, clean strokes linking the two banks.
The hills leave little level ground, so the town stretches lengthwise. On paper the result is a slender, elongated street pattern rather than a compact core.
Xuyong lies where the Sichuan Basin climbs toward the Yunnan–Guizhou Plateau, so roads leaving town switch back and forth as they follow slopes and ridges.

For people with family roots in Luzhou or southern Sichuan, a print of Xuyong is a quiet way to keep home in view. Its river-and-valley silhouette is distinctive enough to recognise at a glance, even without labels.
You can add your own title, a subtitle such as a family name or a year, and the coordinates line. Then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the HD files for $9 or order a matte print.
