Yaritagua is a town in the western part of Yaracuy state in Venezuela, on the lowlands between the mountain ranges of the region. From above, the centre has the regular grid typical of towns of Spanish colonial origin, with square blocks set around a central plaza and a church. Main roads leave the grid toward neighbouring towns.
The surrounding land is agricultural, and on a map fields fill much of the space around the town, with irrigation lines and rural roads crossing them. Yaritagua lies near the state border with Lara, and the road connecting it toward Barquisimeto is one of the strongest lines in the area.
As the town has grown, newer neighbourhoods have spread outward from the old grid in less regular forms, and the contrast between the orderly centre and the looser edges is clear from above. A Yaritagua map poster shows that transition, a small grid town surrounded by open, cultivated land.
