Ko e mape
Yegor’yevsk lies in the south-eastern part of Moscow Oblast, in the Meshchera lowlands, among forests and small rivers. On a map, the town has a clear shape. A compact central grid with a large central square is surrounded by lower-density districts, and roads lead out toward Moscow, Kolomna and the villages around it. Former industrial sites form larger blocks near the edges of the centre.
The town takes its name from Saint George, Yegor in Russian, and grew into an important textile centre in the nineteenth century. Its most recognisable landmark is the Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky, a large church in the town centre whose silhouette dominates Yegor’yevsk. The merchant buildings nearby still reflect the prosperity of the textile era.
A Yegor’yevsk map poster presents a classic provincial Russian town plan. It has a regular centre, a main square, factory districts and roads branching out into the forest. The layout is easy to read and well proportioned. In black and white, the orderly grid at the centre and the looser streets around it give the print a satisfying rhythm.

Former mill and factory sites appear as larger blocks near the centre, a legacy of the town's textile industry.
