Ko e mape
Yukuhashi lies in eastern Fukuoka Prefecture, a short distance south of Kitakyushu, on the shore of the Suo Sea, the western end of the Seto Inland Sea. From above, the city spreads over a wide, flat plain, with a denser centre around the railway station and a lower, looser pattern of houses and fields extending towards the coast.
Rivers flow from the hills to the sea across this plain, and the map shows their channels running between neighbourhoods and rice fields. Near the shore, harbour areas and sea walls give parts of the coastline a crisp, engineered edge, while inland the ground rises into wooded hills that close the view to the west and south.
The city was historically part of Buzen province, and it grew as a local centre and railway junction linking the coast with the inland Chikuho area. A Yukuhashi map poster brings together that everyday structure of station, rivers, fields and shore in a quiet composition well suited to the city's scale.
The densest streets gather around the city's railway station, where the main coastal line meets a branch running inland, forming the clearest knot of roads on the map.
Rivers cross the flat land from the hills to the sea, their channels cutting through housing and fields and giving the layout a steady, repeating rhythm.
To the east the city meets the calm waters of the Suo Sea, with harbour edges and shoreline roads marking a clean boundary between land and water.
