Annapolis Map Poster & Print
Annapolis is the capital of Maryland, and its map is one of the most distinctive in the United States. The historic centre sits on a small peninsula bounded by the Severn River, Spa Creek and the Chesapeake Bay, and water frames almost every view from above.
The old town was laid out in the late seventeenth century in a baroque plan, with streets radiating from two circles: State Circle, around the Maryland State House, and Church Circle, around St. Anne's Church. The result is a rare pattern of diagonal streets converging on round hubs, quite unlike the rectangular grids of most American towns.
The United States Naval Academy occupies the waterfront along the Severn, its grounds forming a large, orderly campus beside the harbour. The Maryland State House is the oldest state capitol still in continuous legislative use. An Annapolis map poster shows how these landmarks, the circles and the water fit together on a compact, walkable peninsula.

Naval Academy grounds
The Academy's campus fills the shore along the Severn River, its quads, piers and athletic fields forming a large, symmetrical block by the water.
City Dock and creeks
A narrow inlet reaches into the town centre at City Dock, while Spa Creek and other inlets cut the surrounding land into peninsulas and points.

Waarom Annapolis
Een kaart met betekenis
Annapolis is a meaningful place for many: midshipmen and their families, sailors, state workers, and those who fell in love with the old streets. A map of the circles and creeks makes an elegant keepsake of that time.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a graduation year or a boat name, adjust the coordinates line, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the town's naval character.
