Ar Ramthā sits in the far north of Jordan, just south of the Syrian border and opposite the city of Daraa. It stands on the broad, level Hauran plateau. The map shows a compact centre with streets packed tightly together, surrounded by a wide ring of farm plots and scattered houses.
Main roads leave the town in several directions: south to Irbid and toward Amman, and north to the border crossing. These radiating lines give the map most of its structure. Between them, the land is divided into long agricultural parcels, and their edges make a fine, regular texture around the town.
