Low-density layout
Buildings and plots are spread out, so the street pattern reads with unusual clarity. Each line on the print is a real route, not part of a blur of detail.

De kaart
Ara Ali Map Poster & Print
Ara Ali lies in the south of Ethiopia's Oromia region, far from the highland cities most people picture when they think of the country. From above it looks like a small, low-density settlement: short streets, scattered plots and a few routes heading out across the surrounding country. There is no river-cut old core and no ring road, just the simple structure of a working town.
That simplicity works well on paper. The main lines through town are easy to follow, and the gaps between buildings keep the streets legible even at small scale. Further out, buildings give way to open land, and the frame becomes a study of how a settlement sits within its surroundings.
An Ara Ali map poster is less about famous landmarks than about one specific place on the earth, fixed by its coordinates. It suits people with roots in the area, aid and field workers who spent time there, or anyone who would rather hang a map of somewhere personal than somewhere famous.

Routes out of town
A few roads leave the centre and run outward. On the poster they act as strong diagonals that anchor the composition and hint at connections beyond the frame.
Southern lowland setting
The town sits in Ethiopia's southern Oromia region, and the open ground around it gives the print a wide, calm margin that contrasts with the compact centre.
