De kaart
Bayt Lāhyā Map Poster & Print
Bayt Lāhyā lies in the far north of the Gaza Strip, a short distance from the Mediterranean coast. On a map, the built-up area is surrounded by what has long been farmland, with plots divided by small roads and paths. To the west, sand dunes lie between the town and the sea, and the street pattern loosens as it approaches them.
The town has been known for agriculture, especially for its strawberries, grown in the sandy soil and once sold widely, and for citrus and other orchards. Its name is often linked to an old Aramaic word, and the town has a long settled history. The land around it has shaped its character more than any single building.
A Bayt Lāhyā map poster records the layout of streets, neighbourhoods and fields as a map shows them. For many people it is a way of keeping the place of home or family present, drawn with quiet, even lines rather than words.

Agricultural plots
Small roads and paths divide the land into many parcels. They produce a fine, varied pattern that reflects the town's long farming tradition.
Dunes toward the sea
West of the town, sandy ground lies between the streets and the Mediterranean. It forms a quieter, open band on the coastal side of the map.
