Dense town core
Close-packed lanes at the centre create the darkest area of the poster. This knot of fine lines thins out quickly toward the edges of town.

Bela Map Poster & Print
Bela is a town in Bihar, on the broad alluvial plain that stretches across northern India along the Ganges and its tributaries. The land here is almost perfectly flat. On a map, the town's shape comes entirely from roads, settlement and water, not from terrain.
The streets form a compact, irregular network rather than a planned grid, with narrow lanes branching off a few main roads. At the edges, the town gives way quickly to farmland, divided into small plots and dotted with village clusters. Rural roads lead outward in several directions and connect Bela to the surrounding countryside.
A Bela map poster presents this in simple linework: the dense core, the roads leading out and the fields around it. It is a modest subject, but towns on the plain like this one have a particular graphic quality. Every road and every patch of water counts, because nothing else competes for attention.

Radiating roads
Several roads lead out of town toward neighbouring villages and market centres, giving the map a loose star shape across the plain.
Fields and water
Field boundaries and small bodies of water, typical of the Bihar plain, scatter across the surrounding land. They add soft points of detail around the settlement.
