De kaart
Bhadohi Map Poster & Print
Bhadohi sits on the flat Gangetic plain of eastern Uttar Pradesh, roughly midway between Varanasi and Prayagraj, with the Ganges flowing a short distance to the south. It is widely known as India's carpet city: hand-knotted rugs from Bhadohi and the surrounding villages are exported around the world, and the craft shapes much of daily life here.
On a map, the town appears as a compact, densely built core of narrow lanes and markets, with larger roads leading out toward neighbouring towns. Weaving workshops, warehouses and homes blend together, so the street pattern is fine and irregular. Beyond the centre, scattered villages, ponds and cultivated fields create a patchwork that stretches to the horizon.
The main roads and railway lines that link Bhadohi to Varanasi reflect its long role as a trading centre for carpets. A Bhadohi map poster has a pleasing symmetry with that craft: a dense, intricate design made entirely from lines, much like the knotted work that made the town's name.

Village patchwork
Around the town, clusters of villages, ponds and fields spread across the plain, many of them part of the wider carpet-weaving tradition of the district.
Roads to the region
Main roads radiate from the centre toward Varanasi, Prayagraj and nearby towns, carrying the trade that connects Bhadohi's looms to markets abroad.

Waarom Bhadohi
Een kaart met betekenis
A map of Bhadohi is a natural choice for families in the carpet trade, exporters, designers and anyone who grew up among its looms. The dense street pattern itself resembles a textile, which makes it especially fitting on a wall.
Add a title, a subtitle naming a family firm or mohalla, and a date. Of the five styles, Sand and Paper echo natural wool and cotton tones, while Noir makes the intricate lanes stand out like fine thread against a dark ground.
