Baroque old town
The historic centre forms a tight grouping of streets close to the river, with the palace church hill above it. It is the densest and most detailed part of the map.

Blieskastel Map Poster & Print
Blieskastel lies in the east of Saarland, in the valley of the Blies, a tributary of the Saar. From above, the old town is a compact cluster of streets beside the river, with a hill above it where the palace church stands. The newer districts and outlying villages spread through the valley and side valleys, separated by woods and fields.
In the eighteenth century the town became the residence of the Counts von der Leyen, and the baroque buildings from that period still shape its centre. The surrounding countryside is part of the Bliesgau, a UNESCO biosphere reserve known for its meadows, orchards and small villages, and much of it appears as open land on the map.
A Blieskastel map poster pairs a small, detailed town centre with a calm rural setting. The river curves through the sheet, streets gather at the old centre, and the villages sit like smaller clusters around it. The result is a gentle, well-balanced composition.

The Blies valley
The Blies winds through the map in a soft curve. The town's main roads and the rail line follow its course through the valley.
Biosphere countryside
Around the town, the open land of the Bliesgau reserve appears as wide, quiet space dotted with small village clusters and country roads.
