Danube crossing
Several bridges span the river, among them Most SNP with its saucer-shaped top. The Danube's wide dark band dominates the centre of the map.

Bratislava Map Poster & Print
Bratislava lies on the Danube where Slovakia meets Austria and Hungary, the only capital that borders two other countries. From above, the river divides the city clearly. The old town and castle sit on the north bank, below the last hills of the Little Carpathians, and Petržalka's large housing estate fills the flat land to the south.
The castle, a square building with four corner towers, stands on a hill above the Danube. Below it, St Martin's Cathedral marks the edge of the old town, where Hungarian kings were once crowned. Nearby, the Most SNP bridge with its disc-shaped restaurant on top crosses the river to Petržalka.
A Bratislava map poster sets the Danube in the middle of the composition. The tight medieval streets, the ring of boulevards around them and the long, regular blocks across the river make three distinct layers, and the wooded hills to the north give the map an open edge.

Old town core
Below the castle hill, the medieval centre forms a small, dense knot of narrow streets inside a ring of wider roads that follow the old fortifications.
Petržalka grid
South of the river, a large planned housing estate spreads in long, regular blocks, a strong contrast to the organic streets on the north bank.

Waarom Bratislava
Een kaart met betekenis
Bratislava is a capital of manageable size, easy to know well, and people who have studied or lived there tend to remember specific streets. A poster keeps the river, the castle hill and one's own neighbourhood in view.
Personalise it with a title, a subtitle and coordinates, for example the address of a first flat or the date of a wedding. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to match your interior.
