Castle enclosure
The ruined castle's walls and towers outline a large enclosure on the edge of the old town, one of the clearest historic shapes anywhere on the map.

Bressuire Map Poster & Print
Bressuire stands in the north of Deux-Sèvres, in the Bocage, a landscape of small fields enclosed by hedges and sunken lanes. On a map the town rises above the valley of the Dolo, a small river, with the old centre knotted around its church and the ruined castle, and newer districts spreading outward along the roads to Cholet, Parthenay and Thouars.
The medieval castle, now a ruin, is one of the more extensive fortresses of western France, and its long ring of walls and towers still traces a distinct enclosure on the plan. Nearby, the church of Notre-Dame carries a tall Renaissance bell tower, a landmark visible across the surrounding countryside and the fixed point around which the old town turns.
A Bressuire map poster brings out the contrast between the dense, curving streets of the old town and the fine mesh of lanes and field boundaries around it. It suits people from the Bocage, those who know the area through family or holidays, and anyone drawn to the quieter textures of rural western France.

Old town streets
Narrow streets wind around Notre-Dame and the central squares, forming a compact centre that contrasts with the more open residential streets beyond it.
Bocage lanes
Around the town, a dense network of small roads and hedged field edges fills the countryside with the fine, irregular lines typical of the Bocage.

Waarom Bressuire
Een kaart met betekenis
Bressuire rewards a close look, with its castle outline, old streets and hedgerow lanes, so it works well at 50×70 cm or larger. Personalise the title and subtitle with a name or date, and keep or change the coordinates line.
Paper and Sand echo old French cadastral maps, while Noir, Blueprint and Classic black & white feel more contemporary. Choose the $9 HD files in six sizes or a matte printed poster, with an optional wooden frame.
