Buhuşi is a town in Bacău County, in the Moldavia region of eastern Romania, on the Bistrița river. On the map, the river and its broad valley run through the area, and the town extends alongside them. The main road follows the valley, side streets climb gently toward the hills, and the edges soften into fields and woodland.
The town grew as an industrial centre, known for its woollen textile mill, whose large site shows up as a distinct block on the map. Buhuşi is also known as the origin of the Bohush Hasidic dynasty, a reminder of the Jewish community that once formed a large part of the town's population.
