Market-town core
The centre has short, irregular streets that meet at a few squares. This is the classic layout of a French market town, and it makes the heart of Challans dense and easy to recognise.

Challans Map Poster & Print
Challans is a market town in the northwest of the Vendée, a short distance inland from the Atlantic coast. On a map, its old centre is a tight cluster of streets meeting at a few central squares. Around it, broader roads form a loose ring, and newer neighbourhoods and business areas extend outward along the main routes.
West of the town, the land changes character. The flat Marais Breton, a marsh area crossed by drainage channels, begins nearby. On a map, straight lines of ditches and scattered farms replace the town's winding streets. Seen from above, this makes the town look like a solid piece set against a thin network of water and fields.
The town is known for its markets and especially for the Challans duck, a poultry breed and label closely linked to its name. A Challans map poster shows a busy regional crossroads. Roads from the coast, the marshes and the Vendée countryside all meet in its centre, and that pattern is easy to read on the print.

Ring of routes
Larger roads loop around the historic centre and connect to the regional routes. They form a rough circle that frames the old streets on the poster.
Marsh edge
To the west, the Marais Breton brings straight drainage channels and open fields. The finer, geometric lines are very different from the town's organic street pattern.

Waarom Challans
Een kaart met betekenis
Challans appeals to Vendée families, people who spend summers on the nearby coast and anyone who likes the steady rhythm of a French market town. The contrast between the dense centre and the open marshland gives the print depth.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example to add a wedding date or a family house. There are five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper keeps the look soft and rural.
