Lake Chapala shoreline
The long northern shore of the lake forms the defining curve of the map, a single clean edge with the open water left calm and empty below it.

Chapala Map Poster & Print
Chapala stands on the northern shore of Lake Chapala, the largest natural freshwater lake in Mexico, about an hour south of Guadalajara. On the map the lake dominates everything: a wide, blank expanse filling the lower part of the frame, with the town strung along its edge and the ground rising steeply behind.
The centre runs from the waterfront promenade and pier inland along a main avenue, with a modest grid on either side. To the east and west, the shoreline road links a chain of lakeside communities, among them Ajijic. For decades the area has drawn retirees from the United States and Canada, drawn by the mild climate that the lake helps to create.
A Chapala map poster leans on this strong contrast between water and land. The shoreline gives a clean, sweeping edge, the town adds detail, and the hills behind it add a few winding roads. It is a good fit for anyone who has lived by the lake, spent winters here, or simply remembers evenings on the malecón.

Malecón and pier
The waterfront promenade and the pier jutting into the lake mark the heart of town, where the street grid meets the water most directly.
Road along the shore
A lakeside road runs east and west from the centre, stitching Chapala to neighbouring villages and drawing a thin line between the hills and the water.

Waarom Chapala
Een kaart met betekenis
Chapala is often a chosen home rather than a birthplace, which gives its map a particular meaning. It marks a decision to live somewhere quieter, near the water, and a framed plan keeps that choice in view.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, then choose from five styles. Blueprint and Sand both suit the lake well. Order a printed poster from partners in over 30 countries, or download six HD sizes for $9.
