Chartres Map Poster & Print
Chartres rises above the valley of the Eure, southwest of Paris, and its outline is easy to read from above. The old town sits on a small hill, crowned by Chartres Cathedral. Narrow medieval streets and stairways lead down the slope to the river. A ring of boulevards follows the line of the old fortifications, and beyond it lies the flat, open farmland of the Beauce.
The cathedral is one of the best-preserved Gothic buildings in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is known for its medieval stained glass and the labyrinth set into the nave floor. In the lower town, the Eure splits into small channels lined with old washhouses and mills, adding fine detail to the map's lower edge.
A Chartres map poster shows a French cathedral town in its classic form: a tight, irregular medieval core, a clear ring of boulevards, and river channels at its foot. It appeals to pilgrims, architecture lovers and anyone who has seen the spires appear over the wheat fields on the road from Paris.

Eure channels

Waarom Chartres
Een kaart met betekenis
Chartres has drawn pilgrims and travellers for centuries, and a map of the old town lets you keep that visit. Its compact, legible layout makes it one of the most satisfying French town prints, especially at larger sizes.
Personalise the title, add a line such as a pilgrimage or wedding date, and set the coordinates. Paper suits the old town particularly well, and Noir makes the ring of boulevards stand out clearly. A free 900 px watermarked preview lets you check the layout.
